[Exhibition Recap] WiAIR Successfully Wraps Up Its Participation at Intelligent Asia 2026
Aug 22, 2026

From August 19–22, 2026, Intelligent Asia 2026 brought together manufacturers, technology providers and industrial decision-makers in Taiwan. WiAIR presented a comprehensive portfolio of paper-based protective packaging materials and equipment, demonstrating how paper-based cushioning can be applied across different product types, weight ranges and transportation requirements.

The exhibition featured six key product categories: 3D Honeycomb Paper Mat,Paper-Bubble, Paper Cushioning, Cardboard Shredder solutions, Honeycomb Paper and 3D Honeycomb Paper Sleeve. Together, these products demonstrate WiAIR’s approach to developing packaging solutions across light-duty packaging, industrial applications and equipment-supported packaging operations.

From Materials to Equipment: Building a Complete Paper-Based Packaging Portfolio

WiAIR’s presence at Intelligent Asia 2026 was not simply a showcase of individual packaging materials. It highlighted an integrated approach that connects material development, equipment engineering and real-world packaging applications.

Different paper-based cushioning products are designed for different packaging requirements. 3D Honeycomb Paper Mat addresses applications requiring higher cushioning and load-bearing performance, while Bubble Paper and Paper Cushioning support everyday product protection, cushioning and void fill. Honeycomb Paper provides lightweight wrapping and protection, while 3D Honeycomb Paper Sleeve creates an enclosed cushioning structure around individual products.

Supporting these materials with dedicated packaging equipment allows paper-based protective packaging to move beyond a material-substitution approach toward a more configurable and scalable packaging process.

3D Honeycomb Paper Mat: Structural Cushioning for Heavy-Duty Packaging

A key focus of the exhibition was 3D Honeycomb Paper Mat, which uses a three-dimensional honeycomb structure to create cushioning and load-distribution performance from paper.

Unlike conventional approaches that primarily increase material thickness to achieve additional protection, the 3D structure focuses on how material geometry, thickness and structural configuration work together to absorb impact and distribute pressure.

A Portfolio Designed Around Different Packaging Requirements

At Intelligent Asia 2026, WiAIR presented a broader portfolio designed to address different product weights, shapes and packaging applications:

3D Honeycomb Paper Mat — designed for industrial and heavy-duty applications requiring cushioning, separation and structural support.

Paper-Bubble — uses an embossed paper structure to provide cushioning for everyday product protection and void fill applications.

Paper Cushioning — provides cushioning and separation for a wide range of packaging requirements.

Cardboard Shredder — process used corrugated cardboard into cushioning and void fill material, creating an opportunity to reuse packaging resources within packing operations.

Honeycomb Paper — uses a conventional honeycomb structure for wrapping, surface protection and lightweight packaging applications.

3D Honeycomb Paper Sleeve — uses a three-dimensional honeycomb structure to provide wraparound protection for different product shapes.

For manufacturers today, packaging optimization is no longer simply about finding an alternative material.

This is where paper-based packaging can play a broader role. By combining paper materials with structural design, forming technology and packaging equipment, WiAIR aims to move paper beyond its traditional role as a flat packaging substrate and develop it into functional cushioning structures capable of providing protection, support and separation.

The objective is not simply to replace plastic with paper. It is to rethink how paper can be engineered to perform within modern protective packaging applications.

Connecting Taiwan with Global Manufacturing

WiAIR’s participation in Intelligent Asia 2026 reflects its continued focus on the evolving needs of global manufacturers.

From lightweight consumer products to heavier industrial components, and from individual packaging materials to equipment-supported applications, WiAIR is building a broader portfolio around paper-based cushioning, packaging efficiency and sustainable packaging development.

As regulatory expectations and sustainability priorities continue to influence packaging decisions, the next stage of packaging development will increasingly require companies to consider both protection performance and material efficiency.

WiAIR will continue to invest in paper-based materials, structural design and packaging equipment to support manufacturers looking for practical ways to optimize protective packaging while reducing reliance on conventional plastic-based cushioning.
